Photographer/Writer
He/Him/His
pictureplastic is the online persona of NYC-based photographer, writer and journalist Mark Minton. What began as a catchy Instagram handle intended to be memorable after long nights out quickly became an alias and ultimately a brand. A Nashville native and J-school alumnus of Columbia College Chicago, Mark’s writing has appeared in publications such as the Garden City Telegram, High Plains Public Radio, Wichita Eagle, Native Magazine, Dodge City Globe and Topeka Capital Journal, and his photography has been featured in publications such as the Global Fund’s Annual Report, Document Journal and Gayletter. After leaving his job as an award-winning reporter at a regional newspaper in southwest Kansas, he moved to New York to expand his creative horizons. His current work centers mostly around queer nightlife, fashion and personalities, but his journalistic career as a whole encompasses hundreds of stories and multimedia coverage of topics including local and state government, cops and courts, e-commerce, agriculture, local business, the environment, and education.
