Filipino drag artist Digna has been a resident performer at Hell’s Kitchen’s Ritz Bar since 2017. “I was mostly hosting their weekend and Dragrace viewing parties until I eventually started my own,” says Digna who has been doing drag for over a decade. Digna currently hosts two successful events at Ritz- a weekly party called Bad Bitch, and a monthly all-Filipino drag cast show called Balikbayan Box.
Diva Soria, Bombalicious Eklaver by way of DC, and Mancie Mandell were the latest cast of the all-Filipino drag show. “I’m very proud of Balikbayan Box,” says Digna, “because it’s a way for me to bring the Filipino LGBTQIA+ community and its allies together through drag, right here, in NYC.”
