A Night of Mugler (P)

Brooklyn-based drag performer and event producer Chiquitita collaborates with Brooklyn Museum for an evening of drag and music inspired by the museum's exhibition Thierry Mugler: Couturissime.

With the purchase of the ticket to the event, Brooklyn Museum opened up two of its floors for the night’s festivities. One floor was dedicated to the party with photo booths and drag performances, while the Mugler exhibit was accessible to the guests way past the museum’s usual hours.

I wanted to capture the night in two formats- instant and digital. The digital shots were taken first to test out the lights and exposure. Then a few shots were taken on Mamiya RB67 medium format film camera that was rigged to produce Instax shots. Digital images from the night were published in PAPER magazine.

Special thanks to Jeffry Ortiz and Sky Vargas for the light assist.
